Fifty crew, promotions, and a closer look at the Enterprise-D's viewscreen

We have hit the big five-oh! Yes, there are now fifty members of the crew, which means if everyone polishes five photon torpedo casings we’d have all 250 gleaming in no time.

Ever noticed that the viewscreen changed in season two…? Look at these side-by-side shots from season one (left) and season two (right), above. On the left there is no inner frame on the viewscreen, whereas on the right there is a ridged inner section. You can see that inner frame even more clearly in this shot from season’s two’s “The Emissary” (coming soon to WAMTNG!). It’s these tiny details that… well, don’t matter one jot!
