Captain's Log: Season Two

Time for everyone to level up... New crew members, new uniforms, new powers - and even a swanky nautical beard!

We survived Season One, congratulations crew, I knew we could do it! Now begins the eclectic second season, which is somewhat improved, but still a long way short of the brilliance to come. Fortunately, the crew have all gained experience and have levelled up. Level 2 Riker gets a beard - hooray! He can sit in the captain’s chair now. Level 2 LaForge is Chief Engineer, so as long last we don’t have to break a new one out of the lucky dip each week. He also changes from red to mustard, as does Level 2 Worf, whose sash also changes from gold to silver. Level 2 Wesley Crusher trades in his mother for an outfit that doesn’t completely suck. And Level 2 Troi’s empathy is finally capable of telling us something other than whether or not the bad guys are hiding something. And of course, Diana Muldaur joins the crew as the never-popular Dr Pulaski, which finally allows for a little lightweight conflict between the crew.

Remember how serious they all looked for season one’s promo shot? Well they still look super-serious, and Patrick Stewart still has his cheeky grin. This shot makes it look like we’re down a female cast member, which we are - but of course, there is a rather famous recurring female guest star joining the show in season two who is not depicted here…

End-of-Season Promotions

I vouched to promote someone on the Away Team after each season, and for the end of season one, I am pleased to be promoting Lieutenant Mower. The good lieutenant has been tireless in promoting WAMTNG on social media every week, and frequently wades in with comments on the site as well. For helping to keep the hailing frequencies open, he is hereby promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Your extra pip will be beamed into your imagination shortly.
