Let's set a course for the Mindwarp Season!

Welcome to the sixth and penultimate season of TNG! It’s no secret that this is my absolute favourite season of the show, an opinion I also share with Brent Spiner and writer Ronald D. Moore. This judgement has nothing to do with the fact that we don’t have to put up with either Wesley Crusher or Lwaxana Troi for a year, and everything to do with the utterly mind-bending concepts that were green lit for this season. From beginning to end, this is a season where it’s not just space ships that enter warp, the very fabric or reality and sanity are going to be tested with these stories!

It is also, tragically, the last season for TNG’s greatest star. I of course am referring to Colm Meaney, who played the irreplaceable Miles O’Brien. They poached him for Deep Space 9, which began during this run (TNG season six commenced in September 1992, and DS9 launched in January 1993). He appears in just two episodes this season, and one more (the last episode) next season. Bon voyage, Chief! Although it has to be said that his role on DS9 is to be the member of the cast who gets royally crapped on from a great height over and over again, but thems the breaks!

End of Season Promotions

At the end of each season, somebody on the Away Team gets a promotion! This time, it has to be Adam Kozak, who has been a consistent contributor to the missions. So after less than a year of being a Lieutenant, I'm promoting him to Lieutenant Commander. The extra pip will be beamed into your imagination instantly!

Remember, if you've never left a comment you can earn promotion to the rank of Ensign instantaneously by simply leaving a comment. Easiest promotion in the universe! And just fifty two more weeks of WAMTNG to do it in! We truly are on the home straight now.
