I'm with you on The Chase being a fun idea/concept, but its execution sort of exceeds its grasp. Salome Jens is the lovely high point here for me. Loved her ever since her appearance in classic, 'The Outer Limits', and of course, incredible as the Female Changeling, who without her ruthless ever morphing leadership, the Dominion would be far less fascinating. 🖖
This was one of those episodes I mentioned that has lost stature with me since my first watch - it still has some good things going for it, but it doesn’t quite make it all ‘click’. The guest cast is the best thing about it, though! A lot of performers here I love, though, including Jens, Lloyd, Thorson, and Roëves. I’ll have to track down that Outer Limits you mentioned!
Yes, the OL co-stars Robert Culp. It's such a great example of the truly unsettling near horror show the show cultivated. Twilight Zone was superior - more varied thriller/mystery/sci-fi/fantasy - but OL greatly disturbed you. Skin crawling. Classic OL is truly film noir sci-fi. Doesn't get much better. 🎥 🖤
