(Running a bit behind here) I think of this episode surprisingly frequently, and not just because it featured a reasonable number of my beloved ship shots (although the Romulan Scout is excellent). I remember being caught off-guard by the ending, which in retrospect seems surprising because it's one of the three obvious potential endings, but I think it's really because the actor portraying Jarok does such a good job at portraying his situation at the end.

There is no 'behind' at WAMTNG - all these shows aired three decades ago, so we're perpetually living in the past! 😂 I remember when first watched this one and I was constantly surprised by the way the plot unfolded, even though it's all put together with a careful logic I could have anticipated. As you say - you get pulled along by James Sloyan's performance. Even today, it's a pleasure!

Such a standout. James Sloyan plays a roguish character in a fun Buck Rogers episode - always loved his work no matter where I found him. And he's in The Sting along with Paul Newman and Robert Redford - one of my all time favorite movies!

Sloyan was in Buck Rogers? Dang, I'm going to have to seek that out. Thanks for the tip off!

He plays Barney - a roguish, scammer thief type. The episode is 'Plot To Kill A City' - it's a 2 parter. It even has Frank Gorshin - Commissioner Bele himself in it as the lead baddie. It's one of the best Buck eps and has Anthony James, the Romulan from The Neutral Zone in a really great, sympathetic turn as a mutated gang member.

That's also the one with the matte painting reused in "Coming of Age", isn't it... I really am going to have to try and get hold of this one!
