Simply one of the best eps for obviously so many reasons, yet the guest stars alone steal the entire show. TOS started a stellar casting tradition & TNG through DS9/VOY just kept bringing on the compelling performers. This is such a standout for acting talent. And I shared Mark Lenard's sadness in him leaving us, but what an unforgettable exit.🖖

I don't mind this episode doing a lot of establishing for part 2, I still enjoy the intrigue. It was great to see Spock and I think they pulled off the connection between the original series and TNG quite effectively.

I don't underestimate what was achieved by this episode yet, greedily, I still wish it had a little more bang for its buck. 🙂

I love both Stephen Root and King of the Hill, can’t believe I didn’t know before today that he was Bill. 🤯 Also, that picture of a sultry Romulan Stewart is something else. Also also, in the caption you have “Normal Large,” which I thought was a hilarious and wonderful name until I realized it was just a typo for “Norman.”

Ha ha! I have corrected the typo, although it's a classic and perhaps I should have left it in. 😁 I only discovered as I was writing this WAM that the Klingon captain was played by Stephen Root, and it likewise blew my mind! It amazes me that after thirty years I'm still discovering new things about TNG. ❤️
